Family Inverted Coaster, Steel roller coaster in Songjiang, Shanghai, China

Family Inverted Coaster is a steel roller coaster featuring a blue track supported by white columns. The ride stretches 405 meters long with a maximum height of 20 meters, with trains reaching speeds of 49 kilometers per hour.

Bolliger & Mabillard designed this steel coaster, which opened at Happy Valley Shanghai on July 5, 2014, as their inaugural family inverted model. The project marked a turning point for the Swiss manufacturer in developing family-friendly inverted coaster concepts.

The name 大洋历险 translates to Ocean Adventures, referencing maritime themes that are woven into Shanghai's entertainment culture. Visitors experience how the park connects modern ride design with local storytelling and regional identity through themed elements.

The coaster operates with a single train of 10 cars accommodating up to 20 riders per cycle. Expect longer waits during peak hours and wear comfortable shoes as you move through the park.

This coaster combines suspended seating, typically found on extreme models, with moderate speeds and heights for a family-oriented experience. The design lets families enjoy an inverted ride without exposure to extreme forces or towering heights.
