International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame, Hall of fame in Oklahoma, United States

The International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame is housed at the University of Oklahoma and honors education leaders from around the world who have advanced how people learn throughout their lives. New inductees are recognized each year based on their contributions to adult education programs, teaching methods, and policy.

It was established in 1996 through the vision of Dr. Thurman J. White, who wanted to recognize excellence in adult education. The organization later expanded to honor contributors from many countries beyond the United States.

The hall honors professionals who have shaped how adults learn and develop skills across different countries and communities. It reflects the value placed on continuous education and personal growth throughout a person's lifetime.

Information about the inductees and their work is accessible through the University of Oklahoma's educational administration. Those interested in nominating future members should contact the university directly for detailed submission requirements.

The James P. Pappas Scholarship program provides annual financial support to students pursuing degrees in adult education. This funding initiative shows how the organization extends its impact beyond recognition to actively develop future educators in the field.
