Harbour Plaza Metropolis, Hotel building in Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong
Harbour Plaza Metropolis is a hotel building in Hung Hom, Kowloon, with over 800 rooms, many of which face Victoria Harbour. It has several restaurants, a gym, an outdoor pool, a spa, and meeting facilities, as well as a garden on the seventh floor.
The hotel opened in the 1990s as part of the broader development of Hung Hom into a connected urban district. The area grew around Hung Hom Station, which became a key rail link between Hong Kong and mainland China.
The hotel takes its name from Metropolis Drive, the street it stands on in Hung Hom. The garden on the seventh floor is a popular spot for weddings and corporate gatherings, which gives the place a role beyond simple accommodation.
The hotel is within walking distance of Hung Hom Station, which connects to rail lines across Hong Kong and to mainland China. Rooms facing the harbour tend to book up early, so requesting one in advance is worth doing if that view matters to you.
The hotel is directly connected to the Metropolis Mall, so guests can move between the two without going outside. This kind of indoor link is practical in a city where heavy rain and heat can arrive without much warning.
