Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey, Sports museum in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States.

The Sports Hall of Fame of New Jersey is an institution that honors athletes and sports contributions through plaques and memorabilia, located at the Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford. The collection spans multiple sports disciplines and documents outstanding achievements across different areas of athletic life.

The institution was founded in 1988 and held its first induction ceremony in May 1993. This beginning marked the start of a new tradition of regularly recognizing athletic excellence in the state of New Jersey.

The hall honors athletes like Yogi Berra, Vince Lombardi, and Carl Lewis from different sports disciplines. This recognition reflects the variety of athletic achievements that have shaped the state's sporting identity.

Visitors can submit nominations for future members through the official website, following specific criteria set by the selection committee. Induction ceremonies take place during New York Giants games, so interested visitors should check those schedules in advance.

Unlike traditional museums, this institution does not have a permanent dedicated location, instead holding its ceremonies during major sporting events. This creates a direct connection between those honored and sports audiences in an unconventional way.
