Smith Family Farm, Restored historic farm in Wayne County, New York.

Smith Family Farm is a restored property spanning Palmyra and Manchester townships, featuring a frame house, reconstructed log home, and mature trees dotting the grounds. The buildings have been returned to their original form to show how people lived in the early 1800s.

The Smith family moved to this property in 1816 after leaving Vermont, marking a pivotal moment in local history. The site was later purchased and preserved by a religious organization to protect its historical importance for future generations.

The farm served as a place where early religious experiences took shape and remains a site of pilgrimage for followers seeking to understand the roots of their faith. Visitors come to connect with the origins of a religious movement that shaped millions of lives.

Visitors can explore the property throughout the year and join guided tours through the different buildings and outdoor areas. It is helpful to check beforehand which areas are open and what the tour duration is.

The log home was not rebuilt at its original location but came from elsewhere and was later reconstructed on this site. This reconstruction shows how conservators piece together historical structures using careful research and craftsmanship.
