Randolph College, Private college in Lynchburg, Virginia, US
Randolph College is a private liberal arts institution in Lynchburg, Virginia, with traditional brick buildings, modern learning spaces, and the Mabel K. Whiteside Greek Theatre for outdoor performances. The campus spreads across 100 acres and offers more than forty majors and nearly fifty minors for different academic interests.
The college was founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman's College and originally served women students. It transformed into a coeducational institution in 2007, fundamentally changing its mission and identity.
The campus is home to the Maier Museum of Art, which opens its doors to visitors and displays works by American artists. You can walk through the galleries between classes or on free days to experience the local art scene without pressure or schedules.
The campus is pleasant to explore on foot, with paths connecting buildings and open green spaces to rest. Visitors should note that not all areas are open to the public and it is wise to check in at the visitor center first.
The TAKE2 curriculum system lets students focus on fewer classes at the same time, giving each course more attention. This model allows for deeper learning instead of juggling many subjects at once.
