Montaluce, Wine estate in Dahlonega, Georgia, US.
Montaluce is a wine estate in the North Georgia mountains that grows European grape varieties and produces wines on-site. The property includes tasting rooms, an on-site restaurant with seasonal offerings, and paths through its vineyards.
The winery was established to explore the potential of North Georgia's soil and climate for wine production. This venture marked a turning point in bringing quality wine production to the region.
The on-site Trattoria restaurant blends Italian cooking methods with local ingredients, offering house-made pastas, artisanal cheeses, and wood-fired pizzas to guests.
The winery is situated on a hillside property and is accessible by car, though the roads are winding and steep in places. Visitors should plan to spend several hours here to enjoy tastings and meals, and wear comfortable shoes if exploring the vineyard grounds.
The winery ages its red wines for 22 months in oak barrels, allowing the wines to develop layers of flavor and complexity. This extended aging process sets it apart from many other producers in the region.
