Loon Mountain Ski Resort, Ski resort in New Hampshire, United States
Loon Mountain Ski Resort is a ski area in the White Mountains of New Hampshire spread across three peaks. The mountain features trails for different skill levels along with multiple terrain parks for freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
The resort was established in 1966 and started with a small number of trails on a single peak. Over time it expanded to its current size with multiple peaks and modern lift systems.
The resort maintains six different terrain parks where skiers and snowboarders develop their skills through systematically arranged features for skill progression.
The resort is located just a few kilometers from a major highway and is easily accessible from Boston. On-site equipment rental and various ticket options are available to suit different visitor schedules.
One of the chairlifts at this location was the first of its kind in the eastern region and marks a milestone in local ski resort development. This technical innovation allowed the resort to transport many more visitors up the mountain simultaneously.
