Franklin Cider Mill, Cider production facility in Franklin Village, Michigan, United States.
Franklin Cider Mill is a cider production facility in Franklin Village, Michigan, using a 90-ton mechanical press to process fresh local apples. The operation sells the finished cider along with warm donuts and other regional products from a retail counter.
Colonel Peter VanEvery built a grain mill on this site in 1837, which Robert McKee converted to cider production in 1918. This transformation marked the beginning of the operation as it functions today.
The mill draws families who gather to watch cider being pressed and share fresh donuts during the fall season. It serves as a meeting point where visitors experience a traditional harvest ritual that remains central to the local autumn routine.
The location operates seasonally from August through early December with daily hours that allow visitors to watch production and purchase items. Plan your visit during peak fall months when the operation runs at full capacity and the widest selection is available.
The property preserves its original water wheel and 19th century mechanical systems that still operate during apple pressing. This vintage equipment has continued functioning with the same core technology for over one hundred years.
