Flying Dog Brewery, Brewery in Frederick, Maryland, United States

The brewery was founded in 1990 by physicist George Stranahan as a startup in Aspen, Colorado. The operation moved to Frederick, Maryland in 2007, establishing its current production base on the East Coast.
The beer labels feature distinctive artwork by illustrator Ralph Steadman, which has become a recognizable part of the brand. Each label tells a visual story that connects the drink to its creative identity.
The facility welcomes visitors for guided tours through the brewing process, with a tasting room where different beer styles can be sampled. It's helpful to check tour availability and plan for an hour or two to fully experience the operation.
In 2023, FX Matt Brewing Company acquired the brewery, resulting in a shift of production operations to New York state. This change represents a significant transition in the company's operations and location.
