Rose and Crown, Grade II listed pub in Stoke Newington, London, England
Rose and Crown is a Grade II listed pub in Stoke Newington featuring dark wood furnishings and exposed ceiling beams spread across multiple rooms. A sunken garden provides outdoor seating while television displays throughout the space show sports events.
Founded in 1704, the pub originally sat at the boundary where London's urban area ended and countryside began. Over time, it evolved from an isolated roadside inn into an established community landmark.
This establishment serves as a neighborhood gathering place where locals meet regularly and enjoy live music performances. The space functions much like it did historically, bringing people together over drinks and conversation.
The pub sits near public transportation, making it easy to reach from across the city. Peak times can get crowded both inside and in the garden, especially when major sports events are being shown.
The interior retains original wooden floorboards and decorative details from the Georgian era that visitors can see throughout the space. These architectural features blend naturally with the building's overall character.
