Parc and Dare Hall, Grade II listed theatre in Treorchy, Wales
Parc and Dare Hall is a grade-listed theatre in Treorchy housing a 660-seat auditorium with sloped seating and curved balconies. The interior features detailed plasterwork decorated with fruit and flower motifs throughout.
The building was constructed in 1892 when mineworkers from nearby collieries pooled small portions of their wages to fund its creation. This effort reflected the community's desire for a place dedicated to learning and gathering.
The hall hosts a wide range of performances and events that draw people from surrounding villages and towns together. Its use as a meeting place has shaped how the community gathers and shares experiences.
Visiting on weekdays when the venue is most active gives you the best sense of how the space operates. Free parking is available nearby, making access straightforward for those arriving by car.
The venue served as a filming location for episodes of a well-known British science fiction series in the mid-2000s. Many visitors pass through without realizing they stand in spaces that appeared on television screens across the country.
