Brentwood School, Independent school in Brentwood, Essex, United Kingdom
Brentwood School is an independent educational institution in Essex divided into three sections: a preparatory school for ages 3 and above, a senior school for ages 11 to 16, and a sixth form for ages 16 to 18. The curriculum combines both International Baccalaureate and A-Level qualifications, allowing students to pursue different academic pathways.
The school received its founding charter from Queen Mary I in 1558 when Sir Anthony Browne established it as a grammar school. Over the centuries, it evolved from a single institution into the multi-section complex that serves students across different age groups today.
The school plays an important role in the local community through events and activities that bring families together. These traditions help create bonds among students and their families that extend beyond the classroom.
The school offers both day and boarding options for families who wish to learn more about enrollment, so contacting the institution directly is the best way to arrange visits or attend information sessions. The campus is located in Brentwood town, making it accessible by local transportation.
The school operates with a Diamond Model structure that keeps boys and girls in separate classes from ages 11 to 16, while bringing them together in the younger preparatory years and again in the sixth form. This teaching arrangement differs from most schools and shapes the social and academic experience for students during those middle years.
