Beggars Group, Record label holding company in London, United Kingdom

Beggars Group is a record label holding company in London that manages and coordinates several influential independent record labels. The company operates recording studios and offices at multiple London locations, with additional branches in New York and Los Angeles.

Martin Mills founded the company in 1977 as a record shop in Earls Court and developed it into an independent music group. Over time, the business grew from retail operations into a holding company with multiple specialized labels.

The company works with renowned artists across different musical genres and has become a platform for independent musicians. Through its various labels, it bridges experimental and established artists.

Visitors can reach the London offices and recording studios, though specific opening hours or access requirements are not formally regulated. It is best to check in advance whether visits are possible, as the company primarily functions as a music production facility.

In 2019, the company distributed half of the proceeds from selling its Spotify shares to artists signed across its various labels. This was an unusual move in the music industry and demonstrated its commitment to supporting artists beyond standard contracts.
