Pelter Winery, Boutique winery in Ein Zivan, Israel
Pelter Winery is a small winemaking operation in the northern Golan Heights that cultivates multiple grape varieties including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc. Production focuses on quality wines sourced from vineyards within the kibbutz farm.
The winery started in 2002 drawing on grapes from a family farm, gradually establishing itself as a recognized producer in the region. This growth reflects the region's emerging wine culture and the kibbutz's commitment to agricultural development.
The winery is embedded within Kibbutz Ein Zivan, where visitors experience how a communal agricultural settlement operates alongside contemporary wine production. This blend of community life and modern viticulture shapes the character of the place.
Visitors can join guided tours that include walks through the vineyards with explanations of grape cultivation, followed by tastings of different wines. Wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore the vineyard grounds at a relaxed pace.
This producer is among the very few in Israel making sparkling wine through traditional fermentation methods using Chardonnay grapes. This specialized focus sets it apart from other local wineries and appeals to those seeking classic winemaking techniques.
