Mora Municipality is an administrative region in central Sweden featuring forests, lakes, and several community centers. The area spans various towns and rural zones shaped by natural landscapes and local settlement patterns.
The administrative region was created in 1971 when several smaller communities merged into one unified territory. This reorganization continues to shape the area's administrative structure today.
The area is known for traditional crafts and regional festivals where visitors can experience Dalarna's way of life directly. Local artisans and makers shape the everyday rhythm and celebration of communities throughout the municipality.
Administrative offices and services are centered in the town of Mora, where public transportation options are available. The region provides access to healthcare, education, and essential infrastructure for both visitors and residents.
The region has maintained a partnership with Changchun in China since 2005, building connections between the two places through cultural exchanges. This international collaboration brings regular visits and joint initiatives to both communities.
